The Kerala Lottery is a major initiative launched by the Government of Kerala 54 years ago. The idea was first mooted in 1967 by PK Kunju Sahib, Finance Minister of the Government of Kerala. The main purpose of the program is to provide employment opportunities to the unemployed and provide financing to the government to achieve economic stability.
